1940-1980 

A period of new growth and specializing in compressors and cooling.
  • 1942: The first Grasso employee magazine issued: "Grasso Mededelingen"
  • 1944: Henri Grasso dies at the age of 80 in Vught, The Netherlands. The factory is almost completely destroyed during World War II so that business comes to a standstill. After the war, the Grasso factory is soon rebuilt, up-to-date machinery is installed and work on an extensive production scheme, aimed especially at the export market, is started.
  • 1949: Start with factory of pneumatic tools in the Hague, The Netherlands, later named N.V. N.A.M.I. in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
  • 1952: First welded VW-compressor is introduced to the press, suitable for ammonia, freon and air.
  • 1958: Grasso celebrates it's 100 years anniversary and receives the title "Royal". Offices are established in Mexico, Brasil, Germany and Belgium and exports all around the world. Besides the food industry, new applications of refrigeration industry are developed within the chemical industry, mining and road industry.
  • 1960: Grasso takes over the contractor Kobach.
  • 1965: Grenco starts in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Grenco standing for: Grasso Engineering and Contracting, installing refrigeration installations.
  • 1973: Last Van Heijst brother leaves the management of Grasso.
  • 1975: Factory of Grasso Perslucht opened in Oss, The Netherlands for the manufacture of air compressors. The first rotary compressors for compressed-air engineering having been introduced in the thirties. In the same year, after 5 years of research, the Monoscrew is introduced. The Monoscrew, after many years of successful application, was removed from production in 1987.
  • 1976: Grasso takes over the American company Schnacke. Later called Grasso Inc. Evansville, USA
